It's been a long time and I'm super excited to be back. I'm super excited to be relaunching, super excited to be here. If you are supporting me for the first time, thank you so much for tuning in. If you are a returning listener and you've been rocking with me since the beginning or maybe in the middle, thank you for tuning in again. I really appreciate it and I'm super excited for today.

Without giving too much of a purpose to what I'm talking about, I just wanted to say I'm super excited to be back. I'm super excited for the new year. We are in 2024. It's crazy that we've been on this podcast for a few years now and that's crazy to even say I feel like I just started like last year. But it's just really cool to be back.

I'm really excited to dive into today's episode. I'm not going to give too much of a well, have you been kind of vibe? You all know I'm back and that's all that matters. I'm here to stay. I am really planning on some major things for Living in Purpose on Purpose podcast this year. So just stay for the ride, stay for the journey, and I hope that we are able to just grow and push together as I help you, help me, help myself, and we're just going to live in our purpose. On purpose, I will say that this year has been very enlightening for me and I hate the whole new year new me vibe. So I don't want to say the cliche, but I really just feel like I've just adapted a new whole mentality, or new another whole mindset.

Speaker 1:

Hence why I wanted to call this episode mindset makeover, and that's cultivating a positive mentality. I feel like everything starts with your mind. Everything starts in the mind, whether it's your faith, whether it's your work ethic, whether it's your discipline or your consistency. All of those things start to your mind. You have to make it up in your mind first that you want to be dedicated to something before you are actually matching your actions to be dedicated. If you want to say you want to go and work a certain type of job or work a certain type of business, you have to make up your mind first. So that's something that you want to consistently do before you actually even do it. That's why you have to make sure that you are having or you're operating in a positive mentality is super important, and I discovered that this year and I couldn't wait to share it with you guys. I was like I can't wait to start my podcast back because I got some gems for my people. I got some gems for them. So I'm super excited to talk about today, I'm super excited to just dive into what it really means to make over your mindset or just to have that mindset makeover and constantly cultivating in a positive mentality to kind of really bridge yourself a positive life.

Speaker 1:

We all know that you can tell, you know how a tree is, or who a tree is which is like a person by the fruit that they bear. And I don't know about y'all, but I want my fruit to be healthy and strong and vibrant and consistent. I want people to look at what I do and that would I produce out, the content that I give to people, and I want them to really be inspired, really be pushed or motivated by what I'm saying. But the only way that I can do that is to have a mindset makeover and which is why this year I said I want to make over my mind, I want to cultivate a more positive mentality that pushes me to do great things, to push me to be great, to push me to do things that I didn't think I can do before, to lean on God and to really acknowledge that, okay, this is the lifestyle that I want. This is the lifestyle that I want to live, so my actions have to match up to it. But the only way that my actions can match up to it is if I give myself a mindset makeover, because your girl Was stressing and I'm not saying I don't stress anymore. I'm not saying that, but I'm saying I don't let it consume me anymore, being over, being that. I made over my mindset and I'm constantly. I feel like it's not even like a one-time thing. Sometimes you have to Make over your mind multiple times, as many times as you need. Please do so. Just don't quit.

Speaker 1:

As I was sitting and I'm okay, cool, I'm just gonna shift my mindset, and it was actually a little bit before the new year and I was like, okay, I really want it to be like this in my life. I really want to make myself believe, or Actually show myself, that this is the life that you desire and this is the life that you're going to get, but it first comes with you making over your mind. So that's what I had to do and I started doing that and I was just sitting there like I want to share this with the people, obviously, like I told y'all, and I started just jotting things randomly down, researching some things about what it really means to Give yourself a mindset makeover. So the whole time like, or this whole episode, I'm just gonna basically talk about a few things, that's like key points in my life that I realized helped me Really give myself a mindset makeover, in helping me cultivate a more positive life or a positive mentality. That I look and I'm like, okay, yeah, this may be lemons, but we make a lemonade today, we might even make some Kool-Aid, like we're gonna do whatever we need to do to shift this from negative to positive and to breed a new mentality Through our minds to give ourselves the life or the lifestyle that we desire to have.

Speaker 1:

Now, the first thing I had to do and if you're taking notes, this is number one, the first key point you have to acknowledge your current mindset. You have to figure out what. How are you currently thinking? You have to take like you just have to really take an analyze. Okay, what are my thoughts like right now? How am I acting, what are my thought patterns, what are my beliefs like?

Speaker 1:

You have to really break it down and sometimes it's hard because we as humans, and especially in today's society, we like a lot of accountability. I mean a lot of accountability and it's hard for us to look at ourselves and pull out the things that are not so good when it comes down to our mentality or our thought processes or even the way we act or do. Things is Very hard to do that now. We can easily critique or critique ourselves, like how we look or something like that, something that's visual or like topical, like it's things that you can easily just pull off, but the things that require us to deep dive into really Assess, we really have a hard time doing that today's generation or today's society. So you really have to take stock of those current thought patterns and beliefs and how are you operating right now?

Speaker 1:

And you have to be able to identify any like self-limiting beliefs that you may have that's literally holding you back from full but your full potential, because a lot of times we have beliefs that's literally capping us at a certain place and it's like no, you're actually supposed to go here, but you're all the way down here because you only believe that you're able to achieve this amount of success, or you only, you only think that you can only achieve this amount of success through your job or your content or your business. Like we're limiting ourselves by having self-limiting beliefs. So we have to make sure we take a set and we take and assess those things. Okay, cool, how am I acting? How do I think? What do I believe? What do I even freaking believe?

Speaker 1:

A lot of times, we don't think about these things. We just go on our day-to-day life and journey and don't think about these things at all. Like, we don't think about it, not even a little bit. And that's why we have to have a makeover for our mindset, because we have to shift and cultivate a positive mentality To breed a positive life. Now, with that being said, we're talking about recognizing your current mindset, but after you do that, you have to set clear intentions, moving forward. Okay, this, this is how my mindset was before. This is my current mindset. I want to set clear intentions for moving forward, how I want to shift my mindset to cultivate a positive mentality, how I want to make over my mindset.

Speaker 1:

So you have to have the really Define specific and positive goals that really align with your new values, your new aspirations, your new goals. You have to Define those things because if you don't, your life is going to define you. You have to define those things in your life because you're almost speaking it. We talk about affirmations and things like that, which I clearly get I'm a little bit On edge about manifestation only because you know whatever God's will for your life is, that's what's gonna happen. I don't know if you can alter that for a sake, but I do believe in affirmations. I do believe in speaking things that are not as though they were. That comes from the Bible, which I believe, and with that I choose to now define Specific and positive goals that align with where I'm trying to go, the values that I'm trying to adopt, the aspirations that I'm trying to reach, or the the things that I'm trying to achieve, the goals that I'm trying to push through and Actually obtain in my life, because that will help me visualize the outcomes that I desire and create like a literal roadmap.

Speaker 1:

Now don't mistake a roadmap of the things you want to achieve for a timeline. I despise timelines. That goes against everything that we know of basically God having a plan for our lives and knowing the plans that he has for us to prosper us. We are literally trying to create our own plan for our life and we know we're not our own. So I don't believe that a timeline is the same as a roadmap. A roadmap is when you can have all these different things, but you still have a journey to get there. A timeline is I need to be here by this time, there by this time, this by this time, that by that time.

Speaker 1:

A roadmap is like a general idea of goals and dreams that you have and, of course, in your own. I guess you can call it like Not even prayer, but just like your whole Intention center, your goal setting. You're able to say, okay, cool, like I need things that are going to align with who I'm trying to be, not who I was. And sometimes, and Sometimes, when it comes to Trying to visualize the new person or visualize the new mindset that you're trying to have or what you're trying to be, you have To be able to embrace the growth mindset. So I guess you can say that's like the third point I guess you have to be able to embrace growth. Embrace that you're going to be a new person. Embrace that you want to create a new lifestyle. Embrace that you want to have a new mindset, that you want to be positive, that you want to have a greater outlook on life and live in your purpose on Purpose. You don't want to just go day to day like you used to do, wasting time, wasting money, wasting resources, wasting connections, wasting anything. You don't want to be wasteful. You want to have a positive mentality and be able to look and embrace the growth that's going to happen in your life.

Speaker 1:

Now, in order to adopt a growth mindset, you have to be able to view your challenges as opportunities for learning and growing. That's something that I'm learning. When things are difficult, when things don't work out, it's really hard for me, but you know what it's okay. It's hard to do that, especially in those moments where you feel like you're trying all that you can try. You're doing all that you can do and things are just very Hard. It's very challenging, it's very Disturbing to you. You're like what the heck I'm doing all the right things? I'm trying to be on this journey and this is the time where the challenges are even greater than before and you're like this is crazy, like I'm trying to do all the things.

Speaker 1:

So, with embracing that growth mindset, you have to be able to look at those challenges and say, hey, these are just stepping stones, these are just opportunities for me to learn, for me to grow even more, for the next thing if something else happens, if this happens again, I'll be set for the next time because I understand and I have grown to know that this is just a challenge that's coming as an opportunity. Now I will say that's easier said than done. I'm not even about to lie. It's easy to say it's okay, everything's gonna be okay, like this girl, this is just an opportunity for you to grow. Now. That's very difficult to just blur it out in a moment where you feel like everything is messing up or everything is all hell. Honestly, it's hard to do that in that moment. But it's something that when you're having a mindset makeover, you are pushing yourself every day, or pushing yourself when these things happen, to See those things as opportunities. We're just gonna practice that.

Speaker 1:

You don't have to be perfect immediately. If you get upset about something, if something happens and you don't have that quote-unquote positive mentality. It's okay. This is a whole journey. Sometimes you have to start over. Sometimes in a day I start over like three or four times. Today when I'm recording, I've started over a million times today. There's so many times today that I wanted to give up a lot of times. I didn't even want to record this episode anymore. I didn't even want to do the relaunch anymore. I just so many things that just kept popping up that I'm like I don't want to do this. I don't desire to do this.

Speaker 1:

Along with having that growth mindset and embracing it, you also have to refrain from negative thoughts. That goes hand in hand. So that's like three and four, but Loki, like a big three, like you just have to refrain from speaking negative over yourself. I believe words have power. So the more that you speak the negative thoughts out really, or even in your mind, the more I feel like they would come into fruition. So you have to challenge those thoughts and question the validity. Okay, okay, yeah, I don't feel like this, but do I really feel like that or is it just because in this moment this happened? That's what you have to do start challenging those thoughts like okay, I understand you're feeling like this, bro. But at the same time, why are we feeling like that when we have so many things to be grateful for? Why are we feeling like this when we have so many things that aren't going right in our lives? Is just in this moment. These things or this thing may not be the last point I want to talk about is two things actually, in that that thing or those things are to surround yourself with positivity and positive people, but also practice gratitude for those things or your life.

Speaker 1:

I Feel like who you are around Majority of the time, who you hang out with, and things like that. Either one or two things are happening. Either they're rubbing off on you or you're rubbing off on them, and I know there's gonna be those people that come for me and say, oh, I'm my own person and just because I hang out with people that do x, y and z don't mean I do x, y and z, or just because they think like x, y and z don't mean I know why would you want to be around anybody? That's not a reflection of where you're trying to go or where you're currently at. As far as the positive aspect, I'm not saying that people don't make mistakes. I'm not saying that people are perfect, but I'm just saying people that's in your circle or people that are connected to you should have a light to show positivity, to spread positivity to you, because you're going to need somebody to lean on in those moments where it's not that easy to Practice gratitude or it's not that easy to shut down those negative thoughts. It's not that easy for you to push past the things that are happening, to Actually produce something, to actually be consistent, to be dedicated in vice versa, so you can provide that for other people and that's why we are working on our mindset makeover, not only for ourselves we're not just doing this for ourselves but also the people that were connected to that. We can assist and we can help them Shift their mindset, shift that way they're thinking, shift the way they're acting, shift the way they're viewing their life, the outlook on life, and cultivate a positive mentality. Those are just the last. That's just the last two things. That's, that's all I wanted to tell you guys today.

It's not a super long episode, listen. This is just a relaunch. I just wanted to give you guys a little bit of what I've been thinking about literally these last maybe three months. I knew I needed a mindset shift. I needed a mindset makeover. I needed to change my way of thinking, change my way of believing and understand that my life is a reflection of my mind. If I'm constantly thinking negative thoughts and not believing that anything good has been come out of it, feeling like all my challenges are just the end of the road and not new opportunities, there's nothing, honestly, there's not much that we could possibly produce and cultivate in our lives.

Speaker 1:

So, with that being said, I wanted to change my mindset, to shift my mindset, to make over my mindset so I can have a more positive mentality on life in general. And I noticed that in the moments where I'm more positive, I produce more greatness, I produce more content, I produce more relationships with people, connections. I get to connect with awesome and dope individuals around me. I get to inspire people. I get to motivate people, motivate my family, motivate my friends, motivate strangers, inspire people to do what they love, inspire people to do something new. There's so many different things that just come from having a positive mentality, and I just really employ everybody to really listen to this episode.
