Speaker 1:

Welcome to Lebanon, purpose On Purpose. I'm your host, jamie Hansel, and welcome to my podcast. I'm your favorite host, jamie Hansel, and I'm super excited to dive into today's episode. Before we start, of course, housekeeping rules go ahead and follow us on Instagram and Facebook and follow us on YouTube.

Speaker 1:

Today I wanted to talk about something that was actually a personal situation for me this week. I was kind of feeling a little bit doubtful, but then myself I felt like I had a lot of my plate, that it was very hard for me to kind of work through the things I used to get done. My to-do list was very long, I didn't have enough time and I still felt like I wasn't doing what I needed to do. I was just kind of sitting there and talking to my husband and he was just pretty much saying like you guys just push through, you gotta push through. I'm like, wow, it's such a simple comment or a simple statement, but it's so powerful, especially when it comes to living on purpose. You have to push through your purpose. Sometimes it's not always very simple. It's not always sunshine and rainbows for you to just go through with your purpose. Sometimes you really have to sit and assess that, okay, it may not be working right now for me, but I have to push through to get to the next day and I feel like that was just super inspiring for me, because it was hard for me to sit there and understand that, yeah, it's not always going to be great, but you still have to push through and make yourself available to live in your purpose on purpose. You're not able to just sit there and just wallow on whatever is going on, because the more you sit there and the more you sit there and think about all the things that's going wrong, all the time you don't have or the situations that you did not do correctly or it didn't turn out the way you wanted to, the more you sit and think about those things, the less time you have to actually do what's purposeful for you or to live in your purpose on purpose. So I really felt like this week my episode is kind of talking to myself first and like I always tell you guys I'm always teaching myself first and then I'm giving it to y'all. I'm not going to give you guys anything that I don't know what I'm talking about or I never use it myself. I feel like it's very important, especially as podcast hosts, for us to really not just give you guys what we're talking about, but actually we're going to take what it is so, actually taking it in for ourselves, giving it out to you guys and doing it that way.

Speaker 1:

Now, when it comes to pushing through your purpose, you might say, jamie, well, okay, it's easier said than done. You can easily say, oh, just push through your purpose and that's that. How can I do that? It's okay, because I got some points for y'all this week when I was going through everything that I was going through and I was trying to figure out, okay, well, how am I going to do this? Because I'm really stuck right now. I really feel like I don't want to do anything, just for the simple fact that everything is not really working how I need it to do, how I need it to be. And so I was really sitting there trying to think I'm like, okay, I know I want to teach this to my viewers, I want to give them this information, but I need to give them something that's long lasting, something that they can hold on to, and come back and think about it and say, okay, well, jamie said we got to push through our purpose, but how do we do that? How do we do that?

Speaker 1:

So the first thing is first is that you have to cultivate a positive mentality. Super important Like this is the number one. Why I made it number one? Because having a positive mentality or a positive mindset is so important, because the more positive that you are, the more positivity is going to just breathe into your life, the more good things is going to happen to you. Why? Because you are choosing to look at the glass half full instead of half empty. If you're always looking at half empty, half empty, half empty, you're going to start to see that you're going to see emptiness all around you all the time. Why? Because you're choosing to not have a positive mentality about your life and about your purpose or about what you're doing. You have to be able to look at the positive side of things and understand that if I give myself this positive mentality that I know, things are going to work out for me. Why? Because I'm choosing, I'm being intentional and I'm being purposeful when it comes to pushing through and to going through the hard times or even just the frustrating times.

Speaker 1:

It may not always be very difficult, but sometimes we just get frustrated. It's not necessarily that a whole bunch of bad things are happening, but you're just sitting there and, like dang, I'm really frustrated, I'm tired, I'm overwhelmed, I'm overstimulated. It does not always mean that all hell is breaking music in life. It just seems like, okay, I just need a break, I'm just tired, I feel like I'm overextending myself. You know, I'm just doing a lot with my family, I'm doing a lot with my friends, or even just a lot for myself. It just gets tired sometimes, but you still have to create that positive mentality to make sure that you're going through the things and you're pushing through your purpose.

Speaker 1:

Now, next thing that you need to do in order to push through your purpose is celebrating your small wins. Now, I feel like this is kind of like a cliche, because everyone's always like celebrate the small wins, celebrate the small wins. But this is very important when it comes to pushing through your purpose. When you're going through those times and you're frustrated, you're tired, you're overwhelmed, whatever the case may be, celebrating those small wins are so important because it just gives you a new sense of motivation and it keeps you inspired If you're constantly saying good job, girl, you did that. You put out that episode on time. I'm so proud of you. That's just a great thing.

Speaker 1:

Somebody else may see it as small. You may see it as small because if you're anything like me, your to-do list is probably very hefty every day. Every day is a long list of things. Sometimes you can get not necessarily overwhelmed, but you can kind of just get overshadowed by all the things that you need to do. When you do complete a couple of things on there, you're like, yeah, I did that, but I still have 10 things to do. That's where we're going wrong. We're not, of course, doing the positive mentality, but celebrating those small wins. It's like, girl, yeah, you may have not been the 15 things, but you did seven and that's a big deal because you were multitasking all day. Good job, and that, right there, celebrating that small win for yourself, you're saying, wow, I'm really growing. Two days ago, when we did three things on my list, today I did seven. It's helping you focus on your growth. You're not focusing on anything else other than we are getting the job done, and that's what we're going to keep doing. Granted, we're going to always push ourselves to do more and to be better. I'm not saying to keep yourself stagnant. However, make sure you're celebrating in between, the little things that you're completing, because that's what's going to keep you motivated, that's what's going to keep you inspired.

Speaker 1:

And, last but not least, you have to make sure you're seeking support when it comes to pushing through your purpose. Having a support system is very important. I know that people say it takes a village when it comes to raising a child and things like that, but honestly, as an adult, it still takes a village. You still need people around you that are supporting you and your purpose, not just you as a person, but the things that you're trying to do in your life, the things that you feel like destined to do or that you have calling or a calling on your life to do. They have to be there to support you and that you and your purpose. And I believe that it takes a village still, if they may not be raising you per se, but it takes a village to keep you motivated sometimes. Sometimes you may not feel like you are inspired to do whatever. You may not feel like you want to push through to do whatever, but that village that you have those people in your circle so that, hey, I noticed you haven't put an episode out in a while.

Speaker 1:

What's going on? You feeling okay? Like, what's going on? Like, do you not have the time? Do you need my help? Do you need my assistance? What's lacking? What's the disconnect? Oh, I see you're at your job. You've been there for a minute.

Speaker 1:

You ever talk about you trying to? You know, apply for no promotions or anything like that. What's going on? How is it Like? Do you see yourself there in two, three, five years? Those are the type of people you need, that you are seeking that support from.

Speaker 1:

You don't need the people that's constantly like oh girl, no, that's bad or no, just forget that, just start this, just do this, and they're not holding you accountable for the things that you want to do or your purposes on your life, you trying to live in your purpose, you being intentional. It may not be all together right now, but you need people that are able to hold you accountable and to say, hey, you said you wanted to do this, but you're doing this. These two things are not lining up, or you are doing this, this is lining up with that. However, what else can we do to kind of push this? How are we gonna get this to the next level? Do we need help from me? Do you need help from my resources? Do you need to sit and talk it out?

Speaker 1:

If you're anything like me, my brain is jumbled up all the time. I have a million and one things to do, million and one things that I wanna say, a million and one things I'm thinking about. And even talking like this, I have to like calm my ideas down and calm my brain down, because sometimes I'm talking and I'm talking and things are popping up in my head. I'm like, oh, that's good, that's good. It may not be for right now, but it might be for the future. But you need to sometimes sit down and just have a little power with somebody.

Speaker 1:

But those are the people that you need to seek support from, because if you are trying to push through your purpose in those things that are very difficult for you to experience right now, sometimes you having support from other people will help you get through those things. You having the support from those other people will help you push through your purpose. It may not be easy, but they're there to help you and lean on you Now, or you lean on them Now. I will say, if you do seek support to try to be that same support for whoever it is. Also, we like to sometimes get or receive, receive receive from people, but it's important too that you're there and available for when they need you, for whatever it is and whatever, whatever capacity that you can help them in. Make sure that you're there for your people too. I know that's like a little segue to something else, but I just wanted to let people know that as you're seeking support, make sure you're also support for other people, because everybody needs somebody. I know sometimes we don't like to call on people or ask people, but it's not always something monetary. It can just be an emotional support. It can be a physical support Like we okay, we, let's go get a coffee every month or once a week or whatever.

Speaker 1:

Pushing through your purpose is an important part of your journey. This is something that is the inevitable. This is something that you cannot avoid. It's not gonna always be great. It's not gonna always be the perfect thing. You living your purpose is, honestly, probably gonna be more difficult before. It's easier or even simpler. So the thing is, you have to understand how to push through your purpose, because it's something that you cannot get over. This is not something you can just speed through. This is not something that you can finagle or finesse your way through. You have to be able to sit down and assess how you can create or cultivate that positive mentality, how you're gonna seek support from different people and how you're just going to do the things that you need to do to push through your purpose. That's why we're here today. I really felt like it helped me a lot this week and I'm sure it's gonna help me this coming a week, because I have a lot of things to do. March is a very busy week or busy month, but it's just something that we just have to learn and it's very important because it helps you to stay determined and live a purposeful life, and that's why we're here.

Speaker 1:

When I created this podcast, I felt like I needed, not necessarily a new meaning for life, but just something that I felt like I was called to do, and it was really hard for me to do it because I'm like I'm gonna die. You want me to do a podcast teaching people how to live in their purpose on purpose. Am I even doing that? I don't know. What does that look like? He literally said what makes it so special is because you're doing it with them. This is not something that you know.

Speaker 1:

Some people just say you like all these different things in the store, like, oh, this is this type of diet, like do this, and they didn't even ever even did that diet, it's just something that sells. Or whatever the case of people do in the gym all the time oh yeah, you know, I could train, you, know and stuff, but they didn't do that to get there. They did something else and it's just like something where God is just telling me like it's okay to grow with them, it's okay to, as you receive different wisdoms and chip or whatever, you're able to pour that into other people, because it's all about helping everybody. It's all about helping people live in their purpose on purpose, just like I am and like I said, it's always. It's a day-to-day journey for me. I don't know about y'all, I might have it all together, but I know I don't. So for me, this is something that helps me. Help you, that also helps me.

Speaker 1:

I love helping people, but I also like helping myself, because the more I help myself, the more I can help other people, and that's the whole point and I hope that as you look at these videos or as you listen to this podcast, you are always thinking like who can I send this to? Who can I give this information to? Because we're living in our purpose on purpose around here. So I want to make sure that they know that they can push through their purpose when it gets difficult and it gets tiresome and it gets overwhelming and overstimulating, that I can give them information to help them the next time. And then the next time they go through and they see someone else in their support system hey, here's that, more information. This is what I learned, this is what this is, this is what I looked up and that's always the point. That's always the goal is always to help somebody else.

Speaker 1:

I believe I was at Bistar when I worked there and we had some type of presentation and I kind of gave this analogy about. Our lives are kind of like a relay race. We get information, we learn different things, we have to listen cool but then when it's time to pass that information along, we pass that the time to the next person. Then they take our front and they go and sometimes they come back around and give it back to you and you run or whatever. Sometimes you may never get it again, but the whole point is that you get something not just for yourself, but to give it to somebody else so they can run on and they can do what they need to do in their lives. Do what they were called to do, and that's the whole point.

Speaker 1:

So I know this episode was not super, super long today, y'all, but, like I said, I am all about meaningful and purposeful connections, but also information, knowledge and names like that, so I would never try to stretch something more than what it is. I feel like this really helped me this week and I hope it helps you.
